Leucothoe Little Flames, 3L
Leucothoe Little Flames is a small, clump forming shrub notable for its fiery new red growth which is perfect for adding colour to a shady border. It thrives in acid soil so is a perfect bed mate for Skimmia and Euonymus but also looks great in a container or woodland area. It is also known by the rather strange common name, Dog Hobble, which is believed to reference its dense habit proving rather tricky for hunting dogs to penetrate while chasing bears. It is certainly a tough plant and should prove to be a low maintenance addition to the garden.
