Features

notes

While deciduous, with inconspicuous leaves, the arching green stems of Cytisus praecox albus keep their colour all year but produce, very early in the year, a mass of attractive, pea-like flowers, along the lengths of the stems. Not only are the early flowers a delight, but they are sweetly scented.

Insights

C. albus is vigorous, easy to grow and once established, tolerant of drought. In addition to the shrub’s charming appearance, it obligingly provides a much appreciated source of nectar that is crucial for early pollinators.
