Delivery & Returns
Please see our last order dates for delivery in time for Christmas:
- Standard item delivery - Order by midnight Tuesday 17th December. We will still dispatch orders placed after this date which may arrive in time, but this is not guaranteed. Plants ordered after midday on Thursday 19th December may not be dispatched until Monday 30th December.
- Local delivery of heavy items - Order on/by Friday 13th December. We now have limited delivery slots available for certain postcodes. We recommend giving us a call in advance of placing your order to check your estimated delivery date.
- In-Store Gift Cards - Order by midday Friday 20th December
- Online E-Gift Cards - Order on/by Wednesday 25th December
- Heavy item delivery to mainland UK or deliveries direct from makers - so sorry, but these are not guaranteed to arrive in time for Christmas
For standard delivery in time for New Year's Eve (excluding sale items), order before midnight on Thursday 26th December.
Standard and Heavy or Large Item Delivery
- For Standard Item Deliveries we aim to deliver your order within 3-5 working days of accepting your order. (Please see 'Christmas Deliveries' for exceptions to this over the Christmas period)
- For Heavy or Large Item Deliveries, we aim to deliver your order within 7-14 working days of accepting your order. Regrettably, actual delivery times cannot be guaranteed.
- Products delivered direct from our manufacturer will have varying lead times, please check product pages for details. Examples of these ranges include our Antique Finish Garden Furniture, Burford Design Sofas, Zinc Water Features and Garden Sculptures, Corten Steel Water Features.
If you have not received your order within the above timescale please contact us and we will investigate the non-arrival.
*Pre-Order Items: Products marked as *Pre-Order Only* at the time of purchasing will be dispatched to you when the products have been delivered to us. Estimated time-scales will be outlined on the Product Page, but unfortunately we are unable to guarantee arrival dates at this time.
- Our standard delivery area covers the UK Mainland excluding the Scottish Highlands and Islands, Northern Ireland, Isles of Scilly, Isle of Wight, and other UK Islands. Local delivery extends to a 30 mile radius of our store, please see 'Local Delivery' in the section below for specific postcode coverage.

Most local deliveries (within 30 miles of Burford) are carried out by our own team using Burford Garden Company vans, with large or heavy deliveries operating on a kerbside delivery basis. Postcodes covered by our Local Delivery are detailed below.

If your order is being delivered by one of our Burford Garden Company vans, a member of our team will be in touch after you place your order to confirm your delivery date. OX18 deliveries may occur on any day of the week, most likely dependent on direction from Burford Garden Co.

Please note, we have limited delivery slots available each day, and so deliveries may be subject to postponement if all delivery slots are full for the nominated postcode day. If you have any queries or wish to check your delivery day, please give us a call before placing your order.
At the time of ordering, please provide us with as much information as possible about delivery access to your property. For deliveries of large or heavy items, deliveries may be made by vehicles as large as an articulated lorry, so please bear in mind the ability for road access to your property before placing your order. In some cases, a surcharge may be applicable to deliver your order. If you have any questions about delivery accessibility, please do not hesitate to give us a call on 01993823117.
Please note that your delivery cost may not be refunded if delivery is not possible due to access restrictions that we have not been made aware of.
It is possible to choose a different Mainland UK delivery address to the UK billing address by simply completing both address details at the checkout stage.
Orders placed by telephone must be delivered to the cardholder's billing address.
Unfortunately we do not offer nominated day delivery, but we will advise you when we anticipate delivery at the time of your order.
Currently we are unable to offer safe place delivery. Tracking is available with many of our couriers, and re-arranging delivery or collection from depot is possible depending on the service, often after the first delivery attempt.
Some items on our website are available to purchase online and collect from our Oxfordshire store for no additional charge. These products are marked with a 'Click and Collect' symbol on the individual product's webpage.
To create your order, add your selected items to your basket, then proceed and pay for your order, selecting ‘Click and Collect’ as the delivery option in the checkout. Please note, Click and Collect is only available on selected items. If you have items that are not available for Click and Collect in your basket, you will need to remove these to proceed with Click and Collect.
When we have your order ready, we will send an email to notify you that it is ready to collect. Please do not arrive at the store until you have received this email letting you know that your order is ready to collect. From the date that this email is sent, you will have seven days to collect your order (we will send you a reminder when the deadline is getting close). If you don’t collect your order within this time period, we will automatically refund it.
When you are ready to collect, please present your order confirmation email to the helpful staff members at our Welcome Desk, who will organise your order to be brought out. If someone else is collecting your order on your behalf, they will also need to bring the order confirmation with them.
*Please note, at our checkout, you will still need to enter a delivery address to proceed, even though the order will not be delivered to this address. If you have any queries about this process, please give us a call on 01993 823117.
Our standard delivery charge starts from £4.95 per delivery address to UK Mainland addresses.
For deliveries to UK Mainland addresses: prices start at £50 per standard kerbside delivery, (Please see our Delivery and Returns T&Cs for further information).
Please note, customer cancellation of delivery or agreed delivery date may be subject to an additional cancellation charge.

- Next Day Gift Card Special Delivery - order before noon Mon-Thurs for delivery Monday-Friday £4.95 per UK Mainland delivery address (please note, no Saturday delivery).
- Free Delivery for Gift Cards over the value of £100.
Offered on selected items only at an additional cost. Our 'white glove' service comprises carrying the item to the position required, within reason, full assembly and removal of all packaging if required. If this service is available on your order, the ability to select this option will be made available to you in the checkout.

Once you have confirmed your order and payment with us, you have entered into a contract to purchase these goods from us. You have a right to cancel your order within 14 days of receipt of goods and receive a full refund. If you wish to cancel your order please complete our Cancellation Form and email it to our Customer Service Team through online@burford.co.uk.
You are entitled to a refund of our Standard Delivery Charge (up to £4.95) if all items from your order are returned. For partial order refunds we will not be able to refund the cost you paid for delivery.
The additional costs of Special Delivery or surcharges will not be refunded.
The costs of Return Delivery will only be refunded if the items are faulty, and providing you have contacted us prior to despatch and agreed the method of returning the items.
If you are not entirely satisfied with your order we will be happy to offer either a full refund to the value of your items, or an exchange, providing the goods are returned unused and in their original packaging. You must let us know that you wish to cancel your order within 14 days of the date the goods are delivered to you, and return them to us within 14 days of notifying us.
Before returning any part of your order, we ask you to contact us via email online@burford.co.uk or call us on 01993 823117 with your order number to hand, this can be found on all emails regarding your purchase. If all items from an order are returned, then you will also be eligible for a refund of our Standard Delivery Charge (up to £4.95).
For heavy items, such as furniture, please call 01993 823117 and we will organise collection directly with our courier.
Returns postage is a direct cost to you and we regret that this cannot be refunded unless the item is faulty.
Additional costs of Special Delivery or delivery surcharges will not be refunded.
For hygiene reasons, we are unable to accept returns of items for piercings such as earrings unless the items are faulty.
Purchases made from Burford Art Gallery, including artwork and artefacts for sale online, are made on the understanding that Burford Garden Company is acting as an agent on behalf of the artists and specialist suppliers. Refunds on works are discretionary and goods must be returned within seven days of purchase, at the latest.
On delivery, please check the items carefully. If you believe that any of the items are faulty or of unsatisfactory quality please call 01993 823117 immediately.
Please contact us before returning any products that you believe may be faulty.
Please note, under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, for faulty goods bought after 1st October 2015 you have a right to a full refund of the product in most cases, up to 30 days after purchase.
If the item(s) is confirmed faulty, we will reimburse you for reasonable return postage costs.
If you are returning an item or items due to a fault or damage on the part of Burford Garden Company or the courier, you may be entitled to a replacement subject to stock availability.
Please email online@burford.co.uk with details of the damage and photographs if possible and a member of staff will call or email by return.
We may refund any items received as a gift through the original method of payment if returned to us by post.
We may request proof of purchase before processing a refund.
Once the item(s) you wish to return has been received and checked by us, a refund for the agreed amount will be made to the debit or credit card used for the original purchase. If the original purchase was made using an e-voucher or giftcard, then a new e-voucher or giftcard will be sent to you by way of refund.
Please allow 7 days from return for this process to be completed.
Some of our products do have tracking available, if tracking is available for your order, this will be sent to you via email and will also be accessible within your account area. Please let us know if your standard weight order has not arrived within 7 working days and we will look into this for you.
Heavier items despatched by courier can be tracked with their consignment number, so please call us if you have not received your order within 10 working days and we will investigate the non-arrival.
