notes

A lovely ornamental form of native Elderberry, Sambucus nigra Black Lace (a.k.a. Eva) is a wonderful robust shrub, with very attractive finely divided purple-black foliage and flat heads of tiny, light pink blooms in June. A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.

Insights

With attractive foliage that adds movement when caught in a breeze, it is ideal for the back of a border where its dark tones complement brighter coloured plants, or in front of a light-coloured wall or fence. Ideally position in full sun to deepen the foliage colour
