A native of China, Osmanthus is also very much at home in the British climate (plant in spring if you are in a cold area). This variety is one of the shrubs named after Arthur Burkwood, a notable 20th-century nurseryman who, with his brother Albert, founded Parkwood Nursery in Kingston upon Thames.
