Rosa Gabriel Oak®
The dark foliage of robust Rosa Gabriel Oak® (Auscrowd) creates a perfect foil for its large, free growing blooms (held on mulberry stems), the outer petals of which lighten in colour as they mature. Forming a well-rounded bush, it thrives as a specimen in a large container or en masse in borders.
Please note, our roses are available to purchase all year round, so depending on the time of year your rose may either arrive in bloom or have been pruned or deadheaded appropriately for the season.

David Austin named this rose after the stalwart hero of Thomas Hardy’s Victorian novel, 'Far from the Madding Crowd'. In this, the most optimistic of Hardy’s love stories, Gabriel Oak is portrayed as the enduring friend of the headstrong and beautiful farmer Bathsheba Everdene, whom, after many vicissitudes, he eventually marries.
