Features

notes

A vigorous, deciduous climber, Clematis Étoile Violette is notable for its abundance of velvety purple flowers with contrasting yellow stamens. These flowers smother the plant from July to September, so use this clematis to scramble through trees or mingle with climbing roses for a dramatic colour burst.

Insights

Clematis need their roots to be cool and their heads in the sun, so plant with roots shaded by other plants. Moreover, they will add height to the garden or provide colour to a plain background, such as a fence or wall.  Clematis Étoile Violette is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
