- Four crowns
- Plant from May to April
- Plant the crowns 10cm down in 20cm deep trenches
- Fertile, well drained soil or raised bed
- Whilst allowing the asparagus to become established, do not cut or harvest during the first year. Cut just a few stems in the second year, and by the third year, the plant should be established enough for harvesting.
- Stop harvesting in June to allow the plant to build strength for next year.
- In autumn, clear away dead and yellowing foliage and mulch. Feed twice a year.
