Cotinus coggyria Ruby Glow is a wonderful deciduous shrub that adds colour and texture to any garden space. The wide, bushy shrub bears leaves that begin bronze coloured, before taking on darker shades of green with purple and red tints in summer, and then turn yellow, purple and red before falling in autumn. In summer, it is covered in pale red puffs of flowers, which illustrate why it is also known as Smoke wood or Smoke bush.
