notes
One of the best ornamentals for a garden, Prunus Amanogawa is a flowering Japanese cherry blossom tree bearing semi double pale pink flowers in April. A small, deciduous tree with columnar habit, it is ideal for small spaces or for lining avenues. The mid green summer foliage turns orange and red in autumn.
Insights

Amanogawa  means ‘river of the sky’ in Japanese, and this specimen was originally found planted along the Arakawa River in Japan, before being introduced to the UK in the early 20th century. Prunus Amanogawa is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
