Features
Amanogawa means ‘river of the sky’ in Japanese, and this specimen was originally found planted along the Arakawa River in Japan, before being introduced to the UK in the early 20th century. Prunus Amanogawa is a recipient of RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.

- Prune straight after flowering – it is advisable to create a balanced branch framework by removing badly placed shoots in the first two to three years, and thereafter only diseased or damaged branches will need pruning.
