Richard explains his process: 'The garden at home plays a big part in my life, and is the primary source of inspiration for my work. After some preparational drawing, I predominantly use oil colour mixed in clear resin, sometimes I use acrylic. This is applied in layers that are manipulated in a variety of ways, including masking out areas, dappling and occasionally sanding.'
