Vitis Vinifera Spetchley Red

The non clingy vine bears small aromatic green flowers in early summer which are followed by small, edible, black dessert grapes, favoured by winemakers (but can also be enjoyed fresh from the vine).

This vigorous vine will need support for its growth – training up a tree, wall or pergola. Once it has developed a framework, all the lateral shoots should be cut back to two or three buds from the main stem, and a regular timetable of pruning is required to allow air circulation and stimulate growth. Vitis Vinifera Spetchley Red is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
