Features

notes
Shortlisted for RHS Chelsea Garden Show Plant of the year 2023, this Tradescantia Brainstorm blooms for much longer than other varieties, filling your garden with its beautiful violet flowers for six months. Each head is packed full of unusual three-petalled flowers with contrasting, striking golden anthers, and complemented by a mauve tone to the sword shaped, evergreen leaves below.
Insights

Tradescantia is named after John Tradescant who was thought to have brought the plant with him from Virginia in the 1620s. He was a gardener to Charles I and his collection of curiosities gathered from his travels as a plantsman was eventually acquired by Ashmole, who later founded the Ashmolean in Oxford based on this collection.
