Rosa Young Lycidas®
Bred by David Austin, Young Lycidas (Ausvibrant) is the most beautiful repeat flowering shrub. Large, cupped magenta flowers with the outer petals tending towards light purple in colour, have an almost silvery quality that, coupled with a vibrant tea and Old Rose scent make this rose rather special. The Friends of Milton's Cottage asked David Austin to name this rose to mark the 400th anniversary of the birth of the poet John Milton. ‘Lycidas’ is thought by many to be one of the finest short poems in the English language.
