Features

notes

Perfect for sunny border, alpine garden or rock bed, the perennial, Pulsatilla Rote Glocke, (Red Clock) is clump forming, low growing and notable for its bell-shaped crimson flowers with contrasting golden stamens. This Pasque flower (originates from the word paschal' which means 'of Easter' due to its propensity to flower around this time) opens facing down but will turn to lift its face to the sun. The flowers are followed by silky seedheads, like those of the clematis.

Insights

A sun lover, Pulsatilla vulgaris Rote Glocke will naturalise and then lie dormant over the summer, but dislikes being disturbed. Its flowers and feathery leaves are covered in fine, silvery hairs, adding delicate texture.
