Features

notes

Perovskia Blue Spire is a useful perennial for late summer colour. Its tiny, violet-blue, tubular flowers appear on silver-grey spikes from August, forming a haze above deeply divided leaves that smell of both sage and lavender (and attract pollinating insects). A recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.

Insights

Named after the Russian count who first introduced it to Western gardens, this aromatic sub-shrub comes from Afghanistan and the Himalayas. Russian Sage loves the sun and regrows each year from a woody base.
