Now We Are Six
A wonderful introduction to children’s poetry, ‘Now We Are Six’, includes poems for children which feature Pooh helping Christopher Robin with his schoolwork (if helping is the word). It is an evocation of childhood, through the eyes of the six-year-old Christopher Robin.

A.A Milne based his characters of Winnie-the-Pooh and his friends Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger, Kanga and Roo on the real nursery toys of his son Christopher Robin. First appearing in 1925 as a Christmas story in the London Evening News, ‘Winnie-the-Pooh' was published the following year and was an instant success, as was ‘The House at Pooh Corner’, in 1928.
