Maranta Light Veins
The stunning oval leaves of this prayer plant with prominent lime green and yellow veins, looks feather-like in its appearance and wildly jungle-like in colour. Maranta’s are clumping plants, an aggregate of several shoots growing in a bunch from a common base. They are commonly known as prayer plants, due to their impressive habit of raising and folding its leaves inwards at night.

Native to Costa Rica and Nicaraqua, Maranta’s sprawl along the forest floor, and therefore love a warm, humid environment. With this in mind, it is recommended that you increase humidity by either using pebble trays underneath your pots, grouping plants close together, or using a humidifier.

Each time you water (ensuring you check how damp the soil is first), rotate your plant to help it to grow evenly. This particular plant is notably sensitive to hard water, so filtered water is recommended to ensure optimum health and growth.
