Helleborus Glenda Gloss
Helleborus Glenda Gloss produces the most beautiful show from late winter until early spring, when there is so little colour in the garden. The rosy tinted, green buds open into cup shaped flowers with magenta dipped petals revealing highly attractive circlets of stamens. Also handsome, the dark green, deeply lobed foliage is marbled with grey/green.
- Pot size: 2/3L
- Height and Spread: 50cm (24in) x 50cm (24in) after 2-5 years

These hellebores have been carefully bred from the Christmas or Lenten Roses (Helleborus niger), to produce exceptionally robust varieties that flourish in our climate. The beautifully marked ‘petals’ are sepals (the petals modified to become nectaries), which is why the flowers last for so long. Harmful if eaten, may cause skin allergy.
Flowers: late November onwards
- Moist, well drained soil
- Partial shade preferred, will tolerate sun
Leave foliage to protect the young buds, but as the hellebore flowers, remove the old foliage to reveal the blooms, this looks attractive and helps to prevent disease. Top dress with fertiliser in the autumn.
