Also known as the Pineapple Lily, Eucomis comosa is an interesting perennial, bearing wavy green leaves and spikes of flower heads, each composed of many tiny, star-shaped flowers. These exotic flowers are cream coloured, which contrast beautifully against the purple tones found beneath the leaves and on the stems. The racemes are topped by a small rosette (giving the plant the appearance of a pineapple!)

- Plant: Plant 10cm deep with the tips of the bulb just below the soil surface, and 15cm apart.

- Water well during summer, particularly if in a pot
- Remove faded flower heads and leaves once they yellow
