Eragrostis curvula Totnes Burgundy, despite its West Country name, is a type of deciduous African Love Grass that is particularly rewarding in high summer when the fine, inward curving foliage matures into a glorious shade of burgundy, hence its name. At the same time delicate flowers, borne on tall, slender stems, catch the slightest breeze like so much pretty froth.

Perfect for a prairie planting scheme, E. Totnes Burgundy is notable for providing movement as the flowers sway above a sunny border. It also works particularly well as statement planting in a container.

- Cut back old stems to the ground between February and the end of March, before new growth resumes. These cuttings can be left on the ground as natural mulch or composted.
- Regular division will maintain vigour.
- Although it is frost hardy, protect from harsh frost in cold areas.
- Flowers can be removed to improve foliage effect.
