notes

Launched by Raymond Evison at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2013, Clematis Samaritan Jo Evipo075 produces a profusion of flowers at the same time. These large, star shaped flowers are white with purple edging, and have pink/purple stamens with yellow tips.

Insights

Clematis need their roots to be cool and their heads in the sun, so plant with roots shaded by other plants.  Plant ‘Samaritan Jo’ is named in recognition of the work of the Samaritan volunteers who deal with those in distress and are all uniformly known as Jo.

Planting
  • Moist, well drained soil
  • Full sun or partial shade

Care
  • Group 2 pruning
  • As Clematis like cool roots, try to position so that the roots will be shaded from the sun by another plant.
