Cephalanthus Magical Moonlight
Hardy and deciduous, Cephalanthus Magical Moonlight grows into a lovely and restrained bushy shrub with eye-catching flowers in late summer. The perfectly spherical flowers comprise tiny, tubular florets with long stamens that give the pom pom flowers an almost fluffy appearance. Smelling sweetly of nectar, the flowers also attract butterflies and native pollinators.

This is a compact form of the Buttonbush, called Magical Moonlight because of the moonlike appearance of the flowers. It is native to areas of North America and Canada where it grows near sources of water where wild fowl eat the seeds.

- In especially heavy clay soil, add compost before planting and avoid a completely dry site.
- Prune in spring to avoid damage from frost.
- Cut the previous year’s flowering stems back to one or two buds and remove dead or weak stems.
