Insights
Buddleias produce copious nectar, and are therefore extremely attractive to butterflies and bees, which is why they are known popularly as butterfly bushes. With a rather unruly habit if left alone, freely cut the vigorous growth to the ground in spring.

- Cut back in late spring to control size and prevent woody stems. Flowers form on new season’s growth so this will result in late flowering, which extends the nectar season for insects.
