notes

A popular dwarf berberis, Berberis atropurpurea Nana is a deciduous shrub much loved for providing interest year-round. Its small purplish leaves turn brilliant red in autumn, adding great colour and impact to the border. In May it bears tiny, scented yellow flowers which attract bees and other pollinators, followed by bright red berries in autumn. These stay on the spiny stems after the leaves have fallen, providing a welcome food source for the birds.

Insights
