In early spring Aucuba Crotonifolia Golden King bears small purple flowers. It looks wonderful in a border or grown as a low hedge but also sits comfortably as a specimen plant in a container. It is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence.
