Features

notes

With its pincushion-like umbels of gleaming white flowers, surrounded by white bracts, Astrantia Sparkling Stars White is marvellously refined in its detail, working well in both cottage and contemporary garden schemes. The flowers attract native pollinators, and can be enjoyed as cut flowers, both fresh and dried. Position with grasses for a dreamy, textured planting.

Insights

Astrantias are clump-forming herbaceous perennials that have been cultivated in Britain since the 16th century and have numerous common names, such as Melancholy Gentleman, Hattie's Pincushion and the more well known Masterwort.
