notes
The ‘Granny’s Bonnet Aquilegia William Guiness bears striking, deep purple (almost black) and white flowers on fine stems above divided foliage. These nodding flowers are much appreciated by bees and other pollinators, and due to their long stems, also make a distinctive cut flower.
Insights

This clump forming, herbaceous perennial makes an interesting and colourful ground cover, works well in a container on the terrace or in naturalistic and wild garden schemes. The genus name means 'eagle' in Latin, referencing the five spurs of the flower, similar in resemblance to an eagle’s talon.
