This clump forming perennial is notable for its deep purple, almost black, double pom pom like flowers that tower over the grey green foliage on tall, spindly stems. Aquilegia Black Barlow looks striking when paired with grasses and can also be cut for floral arrangements.  

Insights

This Granny’s Bonnet self seeds freely and is easy to grow. Plant in a border for wonderful cottage garden style or in a container for dramatic impact on the terrace.

Care
