notes

A compact perennial with its clump of strap like leaves, Agapanthus Brilliant Blue brings a sense of real vibrancy to the garden, with its clusters of bright blue flowers, held aloft tall stems. Each petal has a darker stripe running through for added interest. When grown in groups it makes an excellent ground cover and brings a wonderful architectural quality to a container or border.

Insights

Some Agapanthuses are referred to colloquially as Lilies of the Nile or African Lilies, because they originated in southern Africa. Now the numerous varieties have spread to most hot areas of the globe. The name Agapanthus, appropriately derives from the Greek words agape and anthos, meaning love and flower.
