Being trained as a small standard (like a lollipop) makes it particularly attractive for formal planting in a border, parterre or as a specimen in a container. Native to the Mediterranean region, rosemarinus relishes the sun. Extremely versatile, the leaves are delicious sprinkled in stews and over trays of roasted meats.
- Flowering period, repeat: June to September
- Hardy
- All soil types- prefers well-drained, poor soil
- South, East or West facing
- Full sun
Plant in spring or autumn. Take small cutting only for the kitchen to avoid spoiling the standard form and prune annually after flowering to prevent the plant from losing its shape.
