notes
Allium Christophii is known as the Star of Persia for good reason. A compact variety of ornamental onion, with star-shaped flowers in early summer. The soft lilac flowers look like sparklers, and appear to have a metallic sheen to them. Curled, strappy mid-green leaves will have already begun to wither before then, so plant amid other perennials to conceal the leaves. Pack of 15 bulbs.
Insights

Attractive to butterflies and bees, this hardy perennial bulb has a long flowering season. Plant in the middle of the border, so the umbrels can grow through other foliage. The flowers and the attractive seed-heads are both the first choice allium for flower arranging, so it is no surprise to hear that it is a recipient of the RHS AGM (Award of Garden Merit), for all round excellence in the garden.
