Entirely self taught, Michels uses the natural world around her as her source of inspiration. Predominantly working in a range of steel for its strength and resilience, it is of utmost importance to Michels to mould pieces which portray the freedom of movement so typical in her work.

Working from her hill farm in Radnorshire, Michels has achieved much success in her career through innumerable commissions from the private collections of well-regarded members of the TV and film community to hotels. Additionally, the artist regularly exhibits in the Cotswolds and Sussex, and has exported several large works abroad, including Europe, USA, and Canada.
