Verbascum Royalty is a charming, dwarf cultivar of the native wildflower Mullein. Rosettes of foliage appear from this cottage garden perennial, maturing into spires of attractive purple flowers from late spring to late autumn. While attractive to native pollinators it is also drought tolerant once established and unappealing to rabbits and deer.

The wildflower Mullein, also known as Figwort, is native across Asia and Europe, especially in the Mediterranean. The most common colour is yellow.
Verbascum has a long-flowering season, from late spring to late summer, especially if you deadhead assiduously.

Verbascum are native to Britain so in a well drained, sunny position, will flourish. Cut the flower stalks down as they fade to encourage more.
