Organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil in Tin
KAÏA organic extra virgin olive oil is produced from organic Chemlali olives grown on a fifth-generation family estate in the central-east region of Tunisia. Handpicking the olives early results in a balanced, but full of character, olive oil, with notes of green almonds, nuts and ripe tomatoes, finishing with a slight kick of pepperiness, but no bitterness. The olives are cold-pressed the same day they're picked, resulting in an oil that is high in polyphenols with a low acidity level.

Tunisia is the third largest olive oil producing country in the world, but the vast majority of their olive oil is bought in bulk to be blended, losing the regional tasting notes. Producer Sarah Ben Romdane wanted to respect the cultural tradition of using olive oil as a sacred ingredient that nourishes and heals, and supervises the whole process of KAÏA: picking, grading, cold pressing, bottling and distributing. The result: a lovingly made and totally traceable olive oil with subtle variations in flavour every year, reflecting its seasonal nature.
