We are delighted to welcome Annie Sloan—internationally renowned decorative painting expert, inventor of Chalk Paint™, and best-selling author for a special visit to our Reading Room. Join us on Friday 30th May from 1pm to 3pm for a book signing and live demonstration as Annie introduces her inspiring new book, Colourful Living.

In Colourful Living, Annie shares 30 innovative upcycling projects designed to give new life to old and unloved furniture. Each project is practical and creative, offering expert guidance on everything from sourcing second-hand items to applying techniques such as painting, stencilling, gilding, dyeing, and printing. Grouped by the time required, from quick afternoon refreshes to more involved weekend makeovers, the book is full of vibrant ideas, all made accessible through clear step-by-step photography and Annie’s trusted advice. The perfect companion to guide on techniques and inspired applications of the wide range of Annie Sloan paints and finishes we hold as a stockist in our Interiors Collection.

Throughout the afternoon, Annie will demonstrate some of her signature techniques using her revolutionary water-based Chalk Paint™, showing how simple it can be to transform furniture with colour and flair. There will also be time for questions, conversation, and of course, book signings.

With over 20 books to her name, including 'Annie Sloan Paints Everything' and 'Colour Recipes for Painted Furniture and More', Annie brings decades of creative expertise and enthusiasm to her work.
