Features

notes
One of the best tiarellas and delightful at the front of a shady border, Tiarella Sugar & Spice has striking semi-evergreen, clump-forming foliage, the leaves deeply cut and attractively marked with crimson. In late spring delicate pink buds (belying its hardy nature) emerge, borne on fine, straight stalks, opening out into a lacy froth of starlike white flowers.
Insights

This is a beautiful, clump-forming plant, especially when planted en masse, providing useful ground cover under deciduous shrubs, such as roses, and trees. Originating in the wooded, mountainous areas of North America, it is sometimes referred to as the Foam Flower due to the visual effect, from afar, created by the open flowers. The ‘foam’ of flowers also attracts bees.
