Features

notes
This Areca dypsis lutescens is the charming, immature form of the popular Golden Cane Palm. The luxuriant stems, dividing into two distinct leaflets, will become gracefully arching branches. In the meantime, the lovely young foliage creates a small-scale sense of tropical lushness and being excellent air purifiers, actively improves the quality of daily life.
Insights

Areca Palms are indigenous to the hydric forests of Madagascar. They are known as Golden Cane Palms because the stems producing the exotic foliage are a lovely warm gold colour. Panicles of small yellow flowers appear on mature palms in the summer and mature into inedible red seeds.

Care

This palm likes bright light but not direct sunlight. It likes a damp habitat so during the growing season keep the soil damp but never wet (to avoid root rot), do not water during the winter. Give it two or three liquid feeds in the growing season and mist the leaves regularly. Protect from draughts.
